The Great Journey in Photography

Bosque Bound

Brown Pelican on the water

420mm f5 320iso 1/2000sec

Very soon I will be heading out to Bosque Del Apache, leaving the friendly confines of So. Cal. (really not that friendly!!) and going to the bird shooters mecca for a few days. This will be the very first time to the Bosque Del Apache wildlife reserve and the first time I have been to New Mexico in a very long time. Bosque is known this time of year for having thousands of Sandhill Cranes, Snow Geese and many other migrating birds.

The picture above of the Brown Pelican was taken a few days ago. It was 86 degrees that day at home. When I get to New Mexico the morning temps are going to be in the 20’s with the possibility of snow fall. What a dramatic difference that will be for me! Attending a workshop led by three of the most talented photographers around, I am hoping to make some good images and as long as the bandwidth holds out I will be posting some of them here so stay tuned.

Meanwhile you can see more of my images at
